If you accidentally hit one of the balance buttons, you can hold down both balance buttons at the same time to reset. Oh, and one other potential drawback: they make the wearer look like a total dork.
So, I'm very happy to rate these headphones at an Excellent 5 stars out of 5. It took me a long time to pull the trigger on these headphones, but believe me it was well worth the money. I have read almost all of the reviews prior to buying this product. I have used a "FEW" electronic products in my 53 years of being in the electronics industry.
I've had the privilege of hearing some the best headphones on the market both wired and wireless and I can honestly say when it comes to sound quality. Noteworthy Features- These headphones provide great sound quality (to be expected from Sennheiser), and very easy to set-up. It may not have the high quality of the digital systems, but it has enhanced my quality time with my family. I have several brands of wireless headphones including the Senheiser models 110, 120, and now the 180. I finally ended up with the Blu ray of Transformers. Now again I have to mention that my Sony receiver was found lacking.
The volume up and down are aligned left and right of each other, but there is a power button in the middle - making it easy to turn off. To make it more complicated, these 3 buttons are all unique sizes and shapes from one another, and don't feel like arrows or anything relative to what their function is.
I have even stepped outside in the backyard with no problems. All in all great stuff, I would get them again. I red some comments before I bought them that they are difficult to pair - I didn't find that at all. In fact, as soon as powered up the transmitter and put the batteries in, they came right on! Very good sound quality for an audiophile ear, but they won't be your best headphone if you're an audiophile. They are light, non-fatiguing and immensely enjoyable.
After it dried in about an hour, it left those buttons with a raised "bump" that my fingers can easily find. The on/off/standby button is between the volume buttons, so it is now easy to find with my fingers also. The sound quality of the 180 is only marginally better than the 120 and the positioning of the controls makes it more difficult to use. If you buy additional headsets you will need to sync them to the base before they'll function. It has completely worthless buttons on the side that are too small and flat and unusable while you are wearing. You have to take off the phones to adjust volume, etc.
