Controversial Reggaeton
Then again there was a lot of controversy about Reggaeton because it used explicit language. It was actually entitled Underground as it had to be underground being released in local garages and dispersed on the sly. Its scope was the inner city life of the poorer youth of Puerto Rico which also dominates as the themes of Reggaeton today. In 1995 the Puerto Rican federal government introduced raids against music establishments to eradicate this music. Finally in 2003 one of the political figures running for office used Reggaeton as a concept for his own campaign to draw in the younger voters. Daddy Yankee became yet still is among the successful Reggaeton performers along with his El Cartel Records.
Worldwide Recognition
In spite of the efforts of the Puerto Rican authorities to stop Reggaeton Daddy Yankee continually guide this market with his albums and singles. In 2004 the record Nina Sky single hit Oye Mi Canto released by a New York artist by the name of N.O.R.E. featured highly regarded Reggaeton musicians Yankee and Tego Calderon. Yankee lastly made it through to U.S.A and Europe with his single Gasolina, in 2004
Background
Daddy Yankee came into this world in 1977. He is commonly known as El Jefe and El Cangri. He came into this world in San Juan, Puerto Rico and named Ramon Luis Ayala Rodriguez. He is a Latin Grammy Award winning Reggaeton recording artist. As he was growing up he was engaged and associated with the underground Reggaeton music wave occurring in his own place Puerto Rico. He soon started to copy the types of classical rap like DJ Goldy and DJ Playero. His 1st appearance was with DJ Playero in a 1992 production Playero 37 yet went on to create his own rhythm and design and has become one of the first artists to be a performed of Reggaeton.
Albums And Songs
His 1st solo album launched was No Mercy and after that he made a duo with Nicky Jam. Then he went solo again with the launch of records El Cartell and El Cartell II after which he became to be recognized as one of the Reggaeton forerunners and was also known as Papi Vaguero. In 2002 his music El Cangri.com have become internationally noted and was considered to be his 1st commercial achievement on earth outside of Hispanic music listeners. He has too a small commercial advertising job including engaging in advertisements for Reebok and Pepsi.
