James Durbin is taking idol by storm and quickly gaining celebrity status, performing to millions every week and captivating us through our TV screens. Through this status James has been able to work with some of the most huge names in the industry.
A week ago on the show James sang Judas Priest's You Got Another Thing Comin'. Steven Tyler said "James, that was (bleep) crazy good! and I think all America agrees with the word I used."
"I love the way you perform," Jennifer tells him. "Every move you make comes from something inside. That's what everybody needs to do when they're up there." Randy: "This is, right here, how you do it."
The final minutes came down to James Durbin and Stefano Langone for the last spot in the top 10. Stefano was sent packing and James took the final spot in the top 10. Top 10 include: Scotty McCreery, Paul McDonald, Jacob Lusk, James Durbin, Casey Abrams. Women: Thia Megia, Pia Toscano, Lauren Alaina, Karen Rodriguez, Haley Reinhart
James deserves a huge pat on the back for overcoming so many odds. All while working towards this great achievement. Our favorite part of James' story is just a few months ago, he was just another would-be musician in California fighting for a dream, going from job to job, with an young infant son and the life altering burden of having not one but two high-stigma neurological conditions. Since Idol his life has changed and the world is quickly learning of his giant skill set.
Durbin had been talking about performing on ''American Idol" for years, as far back as his mid-teens when the combined effects of Tourette's and Asperger's syndrome made it difficult for him to even have a normal conversation. In fact, he said, he auditioned for ''Idol" two years ago and was not selected, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
